Recovery
Cyclone Vaianu

— The cyclone has passed. Our thoughts are with affected whānau and iwi as recovery begins.

Te Pūtea Oranga Iwi

A fund to support iwi kaupapa across Aotearoa

IwiConnect contributes 5% of all iwi engagement fees into Te Pūtea Oranga Iwi, a not-for-profit fund dedicated to supporting kaupapa such as marae, education, health, sport, and culture.

This is our way of recognising the mahi iwi and hapū carry every day, and ensuring that some of the value created through compliance engagement flows back into iwi-led initiatives.

How it works

  1. 1. Funding pool

Every iwi engagement processed through the IwiConnect platform contributes 5% of fees to Te Pūtea Oranga Iwi.

  2. 2. Eligibility

Onboarded iwi can apply to the fund once they have been on the platform for 12 months.

  3. 3. Independent decisions

Applications are assessed by independent decision makers, ensuring fairness and transparency.

How it works

Why it matters

  • Strengthens marae, hapū, and iwi-led kaupapa
  • Keeps iwi engagement free of cost for iwi and hapū
  • Builds a transparent system where value flows back into communities

Te Pūtea Oranga Iwi is about collective impact — making sure the platform delivers not just compliance and efficiency, but also tangible benefits for iwi futures.
